If you haven't tried Book Passage in Corte Madera (a smaller one is in the Ferry Building) you're in for a treat. The store has a large area for author events which are held almost every night. They also have a wonderful art and travel "annex" behind the first store, and a cafe for resting and enjoying your new books. There's a lot going on here, try it out for yourself.

Book passage is an okay book store. The selection really isn't that great. They place needs to open some windows or get some better air going, because it's always stuffy and musty. The people working there aren't helpful at all. The little cafe part has a limited menu that isn't very good. I wish I liked it as much as everyone else, but I just don't see the charm in the place. The only thing that makes them that different is they are constantly getting a lot of high profiile authors, politicians and celebrities in to talk about their books.

Good, not great. They are the number one choice for author signings in Marin. The selection is good but somewhat limited.
